Budapest musts – Szechenyi Spa Baths

Budapest should be on everyone’s wish list. It’s dirt cheap, ridiculously beautiful and a whole lot of fun.

Laze in the afternoon sun and soak up the natural spring water. Winter or summer  – the baths will be smokin’ hot.

So what are you going to do when you get there? Well you could join in on some local Hungarian men’s card game, whizz around the high pressure swirl spa, explore the eighteen different pools, meet some peeps, get a massage, flirt with some tourists, TAN… The list is endless really. Szechenyi is beautiful and is definitely worth the visit.

Spa party

So you’re on the hunt for something a bit more wild? Well the Saturday night spa party is where it’s at. I have some fabulous memories here. Try partying at night in a massive spa, with great tunes and a few hundred people. I can guarantee some memories will be made. This is not to be missed!

Even if its winter outside (we went in Spring and it was still pretty nippy at night), the water is boiling. Although I admit you do freeze your ass off when buying a drink. Also note, no cash is involved, you prepay and keep it on a card which hangs around your neck.

and one hell of a spa party

Rest and relax during the day, then swirl around at night. Both events cannot be missed.

Daytime cost: €17.50 for a private cabin to keep your things and all day long spa/pool access.

Spa party cost: €35

Tickets can be purchased online or at the Szechenyi Spa Baths.

  1. Your blog is wonderful! I’ve found it to be very inspirational, I can relate to you a lot being a law student, having the option to step out of my comfort zone and go on exchange later this year, or stay here, safe with my law firm job and the life I already know… Looking forward to more of your adventures!

    1. I am so happy to hear that. If there is one thing that I can say, it would be go. Don’t miss the opportunity to actually live your life. The law firm and the life you know will be right here when you get back and you may find that what you want your life to be really changes when you get back. Honestly if we spend our whole lives thinking with our head we will never fully enjoy our lives. Ahh you much go on exchange, it will honestly change your life.

Where are you thinking of going?

      1. I’ve applied to Italy (even though it’s not more than a 2 hour plane trip away, I’d get to practice Italian and MEET LOVELY NEW PEOPLE) – my first two choices were Bologna and Verona – but I have yet to hear which one of the two I’ll be chosen for! Thanks for your kind words!! I really am leaning more towards taking the plunge into an adventurous handful of months, and seeing where life goes after that, rather than staying here, where life is pretty much the same from day to day…
